Tempe Accelerated High School is a performing school as defined by the Arizona Department of Education.

NCLB
For high schools, NCLB measures Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) in three different areas -

• Graduation Rate - the percentage of students who graduate within four years
• Take Rate - the percentage of 10th graders who took the AIMS reading and AIMS math test
• Annual Measureable Objective (AMO) - the percentage of students who pass the AIMS reading and AIMS math test

2009-2010 AYP Data

• MET Graduation Rate - TAHS is proud to annouce that it met is graduation rate and therefore was eligable to be out of improvement status for NCLB.
• MET Take Rate - TAHS had enough students take the AIMS reading and AIMS math test
• MET AMO Reading - TAHS met the AMO level for AIMS reading
• AMO Math - TAHS had 46% of our students pass the AIMS math test.  Under the old AMO target of 40% TAHS would have met the AMO for math; however, the AMO target was changed to 48% after AIMS math testing was completed.  As a result, we missed this target by 2%*

Last year, TAHS was Year 1 (Frozen) for our graduation rate.  We met the graduation rate requirement this year; however, we did not meet the AMO for math and therefore we remain Year 1 - Frozen for the 2010 -2011 school year.  Click here to read the letter regarding this.

*please note, both AMO reading and AMO math levels for this year were calculated using the small school formula established by the ADE.
